On Oct. 1st 1932 the New York Yankees were playing the Chicago Cubs in the 3rd game of the World Series at Wrigley Field. They were up 2 games to  nil over the Cubs, and despite Babe Ruth hitting a 3 run shot in the first were tied at 4 all in the fifth inning. The Cubs bench were giving it to the Babe when he got up to bat, and he was soon at a 2 and 2 count. Then before the next pitch he made a gesture with his left hand out to center field, this was the famous "called shot", as he hit the next pitch out of the park. The Yankees won.

On Jan 31st of this year one of our members here did the V4 motorcycle equivalent, he posted some pics of his finished project and suggested it would make a nice BOTM.

I could hardly argue with that statement.

Congratulations Gary (Zarticus) your 1984 V65 Magna is February's Bike of the Month. Ruth called his second homer of the game and won. You called your second BOTM winner and won.

Coincidence? I think not :)

Wow !!!!, Thank you Soooo much. While my post did kind of hint  about a possible BOTM I really was not expecting to actually be awarded the honor again !!!!. Mike, I really like your Babe Ruth "called shot" analogy  :rolling:. I guess I'm going to have to buy another V4 to restore if I ever want to win again !. Maybe a VF1000 for the next go around  :thumb

Well, It probably don't count in this rebuilt BOTM, buuuut, I was a two fer on the old BOTM that Wally did. My BUFF Sabre and CLT VFR700 won the same time!! Kinda like my two bikes tied! I think that was/is the first and only time it happened on the board. I think those old posts got lost in the bbs software change.

I be dawged if I ain't found the thread!!! Whoa! Ten years ago? Dang, I been :pot: here a while!

Pics got lost, though. They were on Golfer's Imageshack. I'll go through My files and try to find the pics.  O0

Have a good'ern!

V4's are fun!

John Hilmer

Hunter and All,

Even with the missing images I think that you should be included in the club of two-timers given that it is all just between friends here.

I think that you are well founded in asking to be included.
