Sorry for the wait again, had to buy a new computer and get the ship ready to launch (we are afloat now).

I've had this particular bike on the list because besides being a nice looking V4, I liked the owners picture he posted in the Photo Gallery. I remember riding my CX500 around Lake Tahoe in 1978 and being impressed with Northern California in general and the Lake Tahoe area in particular.

This is a nice combo, a V65 Magna above Lake Tahoe. So congratulations ThoseAreAnts, your 1983 V65 Magna is April 2015's BOTM.

Michael & All,

I viewed this shortly after Michael posted it but felt I've been involved in this forum to respond so quickly yet again.

Thanks, Hunter, for braking the ice so to speak.

Knowing a bit of the history of his build makes this special as I see it.

Wow. Blown away!
Thanks so much, Michael for the honor and the recognition.
This was my first big (to me) V4 project but it wasn't mine alone... It wouldn't have happened at all without the members here and the inspiration, confidence, advice, parts and more I got from this Bored. This is clearly where to come if you want to do it right!

Many thanks also to the rest of y'all for the encouraging & generous comments here.

You certainly do, John. And there will always be a little piece of you in this ride!  :thumb

But let's face it - That pic was all about the lake.
Without question the prettiest place I've ever ridden (or done a lot of things) but the trade-off is that you only get to do it for half the year, 'cos of the snow.
(That section of road - around Emerald Bay, where the picture was taken - is actually closed for the snowiest parts of the year. Too much risk of slipping off the edge, I guess.)

Thanks again, guys.
This absolutely made my month. The trophy will be displayed prominently and with far too much pride!

Brilliant Rob! Your Magna looks fantastic and the location makes me want to jump on a plane and head across the pacific for California again!

I followed your build closely as you did yours while I was doing mine. Mine is still going - waiting for Rayman to find some time to complete the electrics. after that, there ain't much more to do other than test it, put new tyres on and hit the road!

Congratulations of your Bike Of The Month win!

Michael,

You had me searching regarding the 400 until I saw the Oniondumpers tag.

I'll try to post up a picture in the next couple days...I got it from an older gentleman friend I know, it was sitting in his barn since 80 something a friend of his gave it to him as his son took off to Cailfornia and told his dad to sell it or whatever... anyways both the father and son are now dead so there it sat until last fall when I was visiting him..he's in his 70's and makes the smoothest hard cider you ever had anyways he was showing me how to make hard cider like his an I seen the bike in the back corner and said who's biker? He says yours if ya want it, get it out of here...I thought it looks like a 400F and sure enough it was... its got 7000 miles on it spray painted flat black with ape hangers no key or paperwork but I got it out of there that day

So,

With all of the thread jacking Rob, I thought I'd get you another chance for others to see your great work.

I wonder if in time your V-45 might get a shot at this honor also.
