I spent 31 days on one of these a few years ago with my daughter on for 26 of those days and just shy of 10K miles going cross country after she graduated from High School.

They are capable, surprisingly sure footed with the right tires, fast enough to embarrass the occasional squid, and they are comfortable while doing all this.

A month or so after our trip my daughter strode into my garage, planted her feet and finger wagging declared I was never selling my 85 V65 Sabre. I have no idea where that came from as I was not contemplating it and never did before. In fact at this point I had only sold 1 bike in my life back in 1979. As she marched back out of the garage with the self righteous indignation that only a teenage girl can pull off, I stood there perplexed and mildly confused. To this day I still don't know what brought that about, but I was instantly sure that I suddenly had a third certainty in my life in addition to death and taxes, yep not selling the Sabre :^)

Congratulations Keeta's brother (we'll call you that for now until we know your real name) your V65 Sabre is December 2018's BOTM.

A link in the Photo Gallery to the post. http://v4hondabbs.com/index.php?topic=70457.0

And thank you Keeta for posting the pic, always great to see long time owners of these bikes who obviously really like their bikes.

might have something to offer here

Keeta:

Please feel free to suggest to your brother to join the Board. After 34 years of ownership we may not have much to offer as far as anything your brother needs to know, but bet he might have some to offer here.

Just a thought.

Excellent!  :thumb :thumb

When I had my V45 Sabre a buddy let me ride his V65 Sabre - until then I thought my bike was fast.  Scared the !@#$% out of me and that at a time when I was young and immortal!

FYI, Now that it is bike hibernation time here in the NE USA and I finally have all the necessary bits gathered from around the world I can commence to finally getting the little interceptor completed. (and out of the "family room" come spring)
