This is another bike that has been on the "definite BOTM" list. Its been modded quite a bit, but along the lines of Form follows function. All the work done on the bike was to improve on performance and handling rather than styling, yet it turned out looking absolutely perfect in my opinion.

Instead of detailing all the work that went into this project, I'm just going to shut up and let the pictures do the talking.

Congratulations Tom (VF1000RS) your 84 VF1000F is May 2014's Bike of the Month.

Tom,

Congratulations!

I've been thinking that this might happen.

Another excellent example for sure.

Having spent a lot of time with a 1000f this spring I now have a new appreciation for these bikes. I remember reading about the time and effort Tom put into this thinking, I hope he knows what he's doing. Obviously he did.

You've raised the bar. Great job and congratulations.

Wow, thanks! Wasnt sure what to expect after that cryptic email! Haha! I should probably post a couple current pictures though. Finished up a few details since.

Thank you Michael!  :thumb

This is a Purdy example of modding a 1000F into what the factory should have continued with it's evolution. I have drooled over the pics ever since I saw them!

Gives me inspiration on the F I have.

Congrats, Tom!!

I always try to avoid looking at any pics containing Tom's bikes.

Out of jealousy and shame.  But mostly jealousy.

Congrats.

PS - @ Magoo, I try not look at the pics due to envy.  And then there's the shame thing - maybe I'll wash the Magna this year...   ;D

Absolutely gorgeous. You deserve to be very proud.

I've always been a cruiser or dirt-bike guy, but the more I see these Interceptors around here, the more I like them. Uh oh... :hooker:

One of Tom's great examples that Original looks still can be mixed with modern materials...

More then an excellent job Tom..  :thumb

Wish I had it in me to take a 'ceptor to that level...

Raymond,

I am a bit surprised at your perspective about this. I'm also surprised that I'm the first to mention this.

It seems to me that you are more than capable of doing what Tom has done, perhaps more.  :thumb

Have you just challenged yourself?  :dunno:

If I was capable of such things I would feel like I should try given Tom's example.

For a long time you have shown us your expert ability on the endurance race machines. Could you turn this ability into a creative Interceptor or would you want to.  :???:

I know that you are working on spending time with your son. Perhaps just put this in mind for later.

Teasing I am, and I hope that the divergence from the original thread might be tolerated.

Tom, sorry for the high jack.

Thanks John, and sorry to be off-topic here Tom..

But I ment by "Wish I had it in me to take a 'ceptor to that level." Í never gone that way, so lots of unexperienced routes jet there to discover..
Besides Toms VF1000F, I know his 1000R to.. A very nice 1000R.. And I also like Hopits 1000R too.. Three great examples of Honda VF DNA series with a modern twist.. And yes, I do love the looks of them all.

I kept my 'ceptors as original as possible... But I always have an urge to build a VF with my own "signature" on it..

But sometimes you need a little push to start working in that direction..

Think you nudged me a bit today John  :thumb

That's one sweet looking ride Tom. One Honda I've never had the pleasure of riding. You don't see many of those bikes up where I live. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing. Nice job!
