February 2022 Bike of the Month

Its that time of year.

Snow on the ground, temps hovering below to just above zero here in Maine, the garage is an ice box.

So, time for BOTM to get us in the mood for Spring.

Lets see, a RWB would be nice, something sporty, a one year only rarity, good back story, and an action shot to finish it off. Definitely an action shot.

So enter the data into the BOTM machine and pull the lever.

And out pops..............................................this months winner.

Well versed in V4's, a regular attendee at SGT's, reportedly sighted in Maine, and apparently can remove a V4 engine from its frame with nothing more than a rusty 14/17 mm combination wrench, crowbar, and a bottle of Ale8 soda..........

Congratulations Stretch (Bill) your 84 VF1000F Interceptor is February's BOTM.

Yes, we know you sold it for height related reasons, but it was to good to pass up, plus I had to check twice to see how many times you pulled that engine. That is dedication.

Look forward to seeing you this Spring.

Well, lookie what I got! Thank you Michael

I'd probably have kept that bike but I'm just not made for it. It ended up sitting more than running. It did run well though. It turned out to be a nice looking, riding and running machine. I must say, that one was the most effort in maintenance of any V4 I've owned. Chains suck.

Michael, the answer to your question, 3x. I learned how to organize parts while taking an engine out. There are 12 different size bolts to keep track of, 26 total (IIRC) when you're taking the bottom off of that engine.

Magoo, yes that is LDog in the background. We were in tight formation until we rounded the corner in the very background when I saw the camera. I needed a good action shot so I gave it a little gas. The bike in the middle is Tom ???, trying to keep up as usual. :-)

Within the span if a year, I sold it, the guy that bought it traded it, he traded back for it, he then traded it to BGT who put stock mufflers on it then sold it to someone out of the area. I got the mufflers from BGT and they made someone very happy for Christmas.

Again, thanks for the honor. I now have had 3 BOTM bikes (one is actually SabreDweezle's but I made it run right). I'm coming after you Dutchy!
