This months winner is a true V4 enthusiast. He buys these bikes and restores them not with an eye to make a profit, but because he really enjoys working, and more importantly riding them. To best of my knowledge I do not recall him selling any of his bikes, which probably accounts for why they seem to collect in his garage. :)

Retired now, his former job was as a plane captain of one of the Navy's large passenger jets used to ferry personnel around the world. That means he was where the buck stopped when it came to the planes maintenance and air worthiness. As anyone involved in any aspect of aviation knows, there is no gliding into the breakdown lane when you have a problem. Guess it makes working on these old V4's a piece of cake  ^-^

Congratulations Steve (Steevo) your set of 3, V30 Magnas are Sept. 2013's Bike(s) of the Month.

These bikes tend to languish in the shadows of the V4 world as they tend to not bring in much when sold, so the guys trying to make a buck pass. The guys looking to ride them for the thrill soon realize the Baby Magna has, well a Mama Magna (V45) and Papa Magna (V65), and well tend to either move on rapidly or just pass.

The fact that Steve is a dyed in the wool Interceptor rider and still finds the time to restore these bikes knowing theres no gain to be made says everything you need to know, he is a V4 enthusiast, which is what this Board is really about. He has certainly garnered my respect.

See Steeve's reply to Gerrie, wish I could ride 325 days a year............... ;D

PS: I'm in Hamburg Germany right now awaiting my 3:30 am wake up call to get to the airport. I did package the trophy before I left, and Mrs. FromMaine has your address. You should get it fairly soon.

Steve,

Now you know.

"  Oh No.....Not Again!!!!!  " just a tease of course.

You certainly deserve this appreciation for all of the reasons that Michael mentioned and more.

Helping others with insight, attesting to what has worked for you and just for being a really nice guy and a good friend to me and others all come to mind without thinking about it much.

As a former owner of a V30, they are fun little bikes. You'd have to restore them for the love of them because it certainly isn't for the money.

Great Job Steve!

Steve & All,

It seems to me that we should be treated to a couple more images of the entire fleet. Steve is holding back here and we all know it.

Those three are very nice, but could you at some time string out all of them and irritate the neighbors long enough for us to see them all?

Yes, I know it will take up most of the street you live on but I for one would love to see this. :ryan:

Give us a look please, Steve!

Steve,

On a serious note without the kidding, I really would like to see an image of ALL of your collection.

When I was down to your home years ago now, that tiny garage prevented viewing most of your restorations.

Don't be shy; a low resolution image of the fleet will obliterate the imperfections that most likely only you would be able to see. Though I doubt that these flaws would be significant you could always take close-up images of flaws to clear the conscience.  :lol8: NOT

Ah, how we show what we have done and what we feel about it is something, isn't it?

Best,

John

I'll take the bike in the foreground, first pic.
